E-health development launched in Uzbekistan

Plans for implementing technical assistance on the use of international standards for the creation and development of health information systems and health data management within the framework of the "Cooperation Agreement between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Health Organization Office in Uzbekistan for 2018-2019"were discussed.

It should be noted that the WHO mission, based on the results of the comprehensive assessment of the health information system of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducted in April this year, held a number of meetings with various state bodies and international financial institutions, in particular, authorized employees of the Ministry of Health. And in November of this year, a meeting was held between the Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Zsuzsanna Yakab, and the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shadmanov. As a result, a project on improving the health information system in Uzbekistan was prepared in cooperation with WHO experts. It includes specific measures for the period 2018-2020 to improve the priority areas of cooperation and the national health information system, support and improve the conditions for the functioning of the e-health system.

During the constructive discussion, the issues of developing a roadmap for the development of the health information system, conducting activities for monitoring, evaluating, training and developing the potential of human resources, attracting international experts in the field of e-health, including training of health professionals, and allocating a grant for comprehensive support for the development of e-health were considered.

At the meeting, it was noted that actions have been initiated to introduce an electronic system in Uzbekistan's medicine, allocate grants to the development of information and communication technologies and data management in the system of the Ministry of Health of our country.
