Customs officers prevented large-scale smuggling of medical supplies

At the international airport "Tashkent", employees of the STK "Tashkent-AERO" conducted customs control of baggage of foreign passengers arriving from abroad in accordance with the established procedure.


Law enforcement officers found 306 packages of surgical staples with a total value of 419 million soums. There were no relevant documents for these products.

Currently, customs checks and investigative actions are being carried out on the revealed fact of an offense.

A similar crime almost occurred at the end of last year. At the border customs post "Navoi" in the Tashkent region, customs officers detained smugglers.

The attackers planned to smuggle foreign-made medicines worth more than 493 million soums through the checkpoint.
