Starting from February 1, Uzbekistan will start preparing doctors for mass vaccination of the population against coronavirus, the country's Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service (SES) reports.
"From February 1, 2021, it is planned to conduct trainings and seminars aimed at improving the level of knowledge of medical personnel on preparing for mass vaccination against COVID-19 infection," the information says.
It is known that all events will be held during the day in cooperation with specialists from China and Russia.
Earlier, Deputy Health Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhodyr Yusupaliyev said that the Uzbek side is working on accelerated certification of the Sputnik V vaccine and intends to localize its production in the country.
In early December last year, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov delivered 100 doses of Sputnik V vaccine to Tashkent for further testing, which is necessary for registration and launch of industrial production of the vaccine in the republic. Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev later told reporters that Russia will supply the republic with one million doses of Sputnik V for migrant workers, and a contract for the supply of the second Russian vaccine, EpiVacCorona, is also expected in 2021.
